It was a day that was calm as expected but with some tension, with some crashes taking out some riders in the race, the wind made for a nervous yet controlled race, the late attacks looked threatening but it came down to an incredible bunch sprint where Caleb Ewan just about managed to beat Sam Bennett, Peter Sagan finished third but was afterwards relegated due to a dangerous sprint, and Wout van Aert was promoted to third after launching his sprint early.
The Route
Stage 13 however is a complete different issue. It's a breakaway day aswell no doubt, it has a flat begining to it and a rough rolling finish. In this return to the Massif the riders will have the Col de la Croix du Pey and the Suc au May as the main climbs of the day.
Both are a bit complicated, the latter one has some nasty gradients above 10%, the average is 7,4% but there's a descending section near the summit. From there it's a rolling finish into Sarran.
The finish is in a slight uphill, the whole finishing kilometers are in a tricky gradient.
The Weather
There's a slight northern breeze which only accentuates the chances of a breakaway succeeding.

Previews should comeback to normal tomorrow. It'll be a day for the breakaway no doubt, Suc au May is really hard sprinters couldn't make it through even if there was an effort in the peloton to chase, but also not hard enough to see the GC riders move. Hence it's a breakaway day, the list could and should in fact be bigger, however what matters is the quality, tomorrow is a day Soren Kragh Andersen as said to be targeting so I deposit some confidence in him, Sunweb have been on the verge of a win and they have several options, I sense tomorrow can be their
